At 1542 SECo along with the first alarm assignment for Box41-10 was dispatched for a reported working structure fire at the Tri-State Transmissions located near the City of Port Jervis line at 6 St Rte 42/97. The building was built in the late 1800's to early 1900's and was of ordinary/balloon construction. The house was originally used as a place of residence for railroad workers working on the Erie-Lackawanna Rail Road. Units arrived on scene to find heavy fire on the 1/4 side of the structure with no immediate exposures. An interior attack was made and soon after an evacuation signal was sounded for all crews to evac the building for fear of potential collapse of the roof on on the #4 side of the structure. After an agrressive exterior attack by the crew on PJFD T827 an interior attack was once again commenced to the third floor with postive results. The fire was determined under control by 1830hrs. Crews remained on scene untill approximately 2030hrs for overhaul and extinguishing hotspots. Units were placed back in service by 2100hrs. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the OC Fire Investigation Bureu.
